Previously...Back in Paris

I am really behind in my doings, so I will just write up the date and add what I did for the day!

PARIS - 24th July 2006

So last time I wrote something I was waiting to see if I would have a room. On my journey back to the hotel, who do I see but Glyn (Have met up with Glyn in many countries) and it was so nice to see a familiar face especially after the crap day I was having.. So we sorted out my room, nearly had to spoon with Glyn in this tiny room but I ended up getting my old room back yippy! Glyn only had one night in Paris so we decided to watch the sunset up on the church, we befriended Ben along the way and I got some wicked eggplant dip, chocolate, cheese and wine! Twas a good night in the end!

Went to Moulin Rouge for some pics I got up on the grill and there's air venting up so decide to act like Marilyn and before you know it everyone around me decided to copy and stuffs up my photos!! I am soo dam impressionable..

25th July 2006

Had a day bike tour of Paris so decided to walk to Eiffel Tower from hotel, only took 1 1/2 hours! Was a ridiculously hot day! Nearly got ran over by numerous cars in the process, but of course survived to tell the tale! After the tour ended I thought I would be able to go to the Catacombs. How wrong I turned out to be. The line was soooo long, I reckon about 100 people were there and they were starting to turn people away because it closes at 4pm.

Then I decided to go to the Rodin Museum, when I get there I am told it has been shut because of some meltdown in computers!! ahhh so quiet annoyed that my plans have been disturbed!! So decide to sit in the Louvre gardens for a nap! End up watching sunset at Concorde...Note to readers I have taken a shitload of sunsets in Paris! Walk back to hotel, took wrong turn and saw a guy ask a prostitute 'how much" quiet interesting!!

26th July 2006

Got up early for the Louvre!! Pretty much got there at 9.30am..looked at a lot of art! It is a pity because soooo crowded and little children out of control and parents letting kids put there grubby hands all over the artwork!! At the Mona Lisa people taking photos and there are signs that clearly state DO NOT TAKE PHOTOS! Even the guards didn't do anything!!

Decided to have a break and head over to the Rodin Museum, I tell them I am 17 (only because I was pissed it was shut yesterday!) and get in for free again! After that I went back into the Louvre till about 8.30pm! Pretty full on that day!

27th July 2006

Another Museum day today! I went to the D'Orsay, beautiful building was a train station before! I really enjoyed the D'Orsay because was nice and small (especially after the Louvre yesterday)!!

Then walked it to the Picasso museum, slightly disappointed very small collection and a painting I wanted to see was not there...Should really do research on where the paintings I wanted to see are held!!

Visited Norte Dame, beautiful church, once again pity about all the tourists! I do feel sorry for the people praying...But a funny thing inside the church is the confessional booths look like police interview rooms! ahah

Moved on to the Centre Pomidou, a very large and ugly building! But had some interesting exhibistions on!

It was Ben's last night in Paris so we got some nibbles and headed down to the Eiffel Tower with my room mates and made a night of it!!

28th July 2006

My last day in Paris...noooo

So decided to go to Catacombs first thing! Got there a little too early but got in when it opened at 10am, it was a little gross seeing all the bones stacked the way they were! Have got some pics that i'll put up later!

Made way over to Eiffel tower, can't believe it took me to my last day in Paris to climb the tower, wish I didn't wear flip flops...The first floor was fine but climbing the second floor cained!! However wish I climbed it at night...But Paris will always be here so I can come again soon!

Went back to hostel to do washing and pack for bustrip...

Last night I went to 'my' bridge to watch the sunset..Then moved back to Eiffel Tower (if you haven't guessed already...I really really like the Eiffel Tower..) Had an eary night!!

Worked out I have had 11 croissants, 5 crepes, 5 falafel 2 bagettes and a wheel of cheese (plus the rest..) in Paris...ummm not good!
